I was with tradestation at the start but it never really provided all the customizable ability I needed in the lay out.

As far as executing via a trading platform. Interactive brokers wins hands down.

However, back to software for screening. StockFetcher allows you to screen for whatever you want and helps you write the code, from english to programming. So simple.
